Entrepreneurship, Artistry, and Entertainment

How a childhood hobby inflated into a thriving business and lifelong passion.

We can only be as successful as our circumstances allow. Thankfully for me, I hit the lottery with great parents. Every stage of my life, they’ve supported me, and this story is no different.

Ever since I was a child, I thrived on creative outlets. My earliest work typically involved Legos or sketchpads, but my parents continued to feed me new mediums to test out. In 2002, I discovered balloon art only after they gifted me a balloon kit for Christmas, and nothing was the same after that.

At 9 years old, I taught myself the basics of balloon art and was already looking for more of a challenge. My parents bought me more advanced balloon kits, signed me up to volunteer at events, and introduced me to balloon twisting conventions. It wasn’t long after this that my father and I set up a college fund.

By high school, I built up enough demand to start making investments in operations. I recruited family members, purchased more equipment, and implemented technologies to better serve clients. When I actually left for college, the business was completely sustainable without my involvement. This left me with the opportunity to focus on my education, while experimenting with new market and grow the business in my new college community.

Since this experience, I’ve graduated college and moved on to working in corporate. However, I still accept requests to perform on the weekends. My passion for this craft and my community will not allow me to stop. Today, I’m driven by the impact my work has on others. I consider myself lucky to have a skill that I enjoy that also makes the world a brighter place. For more information on our services, visit Big Balloon Tycoon.
